Statement on the situation in the Gaza Strip

The Government of Chile condemned the deaths of dozens of Palestinian citizens during demonstrations in the Gaza Strip. Similarly, it reiterates its rejection of the disproportionate use of force by Israeli troops, who have caused numerous fatalities and thousands of wounded, to whose families we express our sincere condolences.

It also calls for the preservation of the peaceful coexistence that will create an atmosphere of dialogue between Israel and Palestine, and reiterates that it will continue to support the achievement of a two-state solution within secure and internationally recognized borders.
