South American directors of the Foreign Ministries of Chile and Colombia meet in Santiago to deepen working mechanisms
Today a working meeting took place between the South American directors of the Chilean and Colombian Foreign Ministries, Patricio Latapiat and Patricia Cortés, respectively.
During the meeting, the main topics on the bilateral agenda were reviewed, with a view to agreeing on a road map that will allow for the reactivation and deepening of some of the working mechanisms for the remainder of this year. They also assessed the degree of compliance with the commitments undertaken between the parties, in order to encourage their early achievement and the identification of new bilateral projects.
This will allow the tentative agenda to be established for the themes and projects of the III Meeting of the Strategic Association Council, towards the first quarter of 2019. It should be noted that this council is the main coordinating body of the bilateral relationship between Chile and Colombia.
In this context, the Directors General of Consular Affairs and Immigration of Chile and Colombia, Raúl Sanhueza and Luz Stella Jara, signed the Rules of Procedure of the Committee on Consular and Migratory Affairs of the Chile-Colombia Strategic Association.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Colombian delegation was received in audience by the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs (S) Patricio Torres.
