Sunday, March 18, 2018

Today, Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero arrived in The Hague, the Netherlands, to join the team that will defend our country before the International Court of Justice, in the framework of the oral arguments between Chile and Bolivia that will begin tomorrow.

His first activity was to lead the meeting with the international lawyers who are part of our country's defense. He was accompanied by Chilean agent Claudio Grossman and co-agent and ambassador to The Hague, María Teresa Infante.

At the end of this meeting, the Minister declared himself satisfied and confident and described the working meeting, which lasted for more than two hours, as "intense and very productive". "It has been a very active conversation among all of us, seeking to better coordinate things, strengthen aspects, preparing in the best way to face what is to come".

After this meeting, the minister led a coordination meeting with the Chilean parliamentarians and the delegation, where they reviewed the final details of the Chilean defense before the allegations began.
