Another of the topics discussed at the working meeting was the negotiation currently being carried out between our country and the European Union to modernize the Free Trade Agreement, in which Chile seeks to raise standards by incorporating the gender dimension, innovation and sustainable development.

Regarding Sanchez's visit to our country, Chancellor Ampuero declared: "Spain is a very important country for Chile, both from a political, economic and social point of view. An example. Spain is the third country of destination for Chileans travelling abroad, the second recipient of Chilean scholarships for doctorates and the third for Masters".
