Alberto van Klaveren takes office as Foreign Affairs Minister

One year into President Gabriel Boric's government, Alberto van Klaveren took over as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gloria de la Fuente as Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, and Claudia Sanhueza as Undersecretary of International Economic Relations.

The new Foreign Minister thanked the Head of State for the appointment and affirmed that "My professional career has been closely linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so the greatest honor for someone who has worked in the Foreign Ministry is to lead this institution - an institution with a long history and great challenges. It is a pleasure to begin this new stage, and I am very grateful for this honor that has been bestowed upon me".
