Undersecretary Valdivia inaugurated the Chile-Argentina 2030 Strategic Dialogue Forum in Buenos Aires

The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Carolina Valdivia, together with her Argentine counterpart, the Vice Chancellor, Ambassador Daniel Raimondi, participated in the inauguration of the binational meeting of the Chile-Argentina 2030 Strategic Dialogue Forum, which took place in Buenos Aires. The Strategic Dialogue Forum made it possible to explore concrete proposals on public policies on connectivity, science and technology, and sustainable development.

The Chilean delegation also included Senators Andrés Allamand, Carolina Goic; Congressman Issa Kort, academics Ricardo Giesen and María Teresa Valenzuela; former Minister Sergio Bitar, former Ambassador José Antonio Viera-Gallo, SOFOFA Vice President Janet Awad, Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Chile Teodoro Ribera, Chilean Ambassador to Argentina Sergio Urrejola, and Strategic Planning Director Roberto Ruiz.

As part of the meeting, Mr. Gustavo Beliz, Director of the Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL, of the Inter-American Development Bank) and Mr. Álvaro Tomic-Obrdalj, General Manager of Compañía Portuaria Mejillones S.A., made presentations.

Subsequently, in the plenary of the Strategic Dialogue Forum, they agreed on the creation of a joint long-term vision document, identifying those trends that will affect the sustainable development of both countries, and the preparation of an annual report useful for the governments of Chile and Argentina.

Finally, the Secretariat of the Forum for 2019 was transferred to the Strategic Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
