Press release regarding the murder of Ecuadorian journalists

The Government of Chile extends its deepest condolences and solidarity to the Government and people of Ecuador, as well as to the families of Jorge Ortega, Paul Rivas and Efraín Segarra, journalists who, while carrying out their professional work in the border region of Ecuador and Colombia, were kidnapped and murdered by irregular groups linked to drug trafficking.

The Government of Chile reiterates its deepest rejection of this despicable act of terrorism and supports all actions to eradicate violence in the region.
