The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Ampuero, today referred to the release of Fernando Candia and Felipe Osiadacz, who were being held in Malaysia.

"It is good news that the two Chilean compatriots in Malaysia can face in freedom the remaining phase," said the Foreign Minister. "We know that the process is still going on, that the situations and decisions of the court may vary as the process progresses," he added.

The Secretary of State also highlighted the constant help and collaboration that Chilean citizens received from Chilean consular authorities in Malaysia. "As we have said since the beginning of this case, our consulate in Kuala Lumpur has provided the necessary assistance and has been in direct contact with them and their families. I want to reiterate: we have not left them alone," he said.
