It is responsible for peacekeeping operations and peace consolidation, for which it monitors and analyzes the situation in countries where peacekeeping operations are deployed -or could be deployed- in accordance with the Chapters VI, VII and VIII of the Charter of the United Nations, and the operational management and follow-up   of Chile's participation in peacekeeping operations, including the resulting links in the bilateral, inter-institutional and multilateral spheres.

This Branch is the operational body that coordinates and supports the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Inter-ministerial Committee on Peacekeeping Operations, as well as working as a liaison unit of the Foreign Ministry with the National Defense Sector as regards to peacekeeping operations.
