The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, met with the President of the Bolivian Senate, Oscar Miguel Ortiz Antelo, who is on an Official Visit to Chile at the invitation of the President of the Chilean Senate, Jovino Novoa Vásquez. Senator Ortiz is accompanied by Senators Tito Hoz de Vila Quiroga and Orlando Careaga Alurralde.
The purpose of the current visit is to reinforce mutual understanding and cooperation between the Legislatures of both countries and to continue the work on integration and parliamentary friendship initiated a few years ago, which contributes to a deeper level of trust between Chile and Bolivia.
In addition to official activities with the Chilean Senate -both in Santiago and in Valparaíso- the Bolivian Senate committee will also be received by the President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet.
Senator Ortiz will be decorated with the Chilean Senate's Order of Merit during his visit, bestowed upon him by his Chilean counterpart.
