The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, is in Caracas Venezuela, to attend the meetings scheduled by the Foreign Ministers of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur), which seek to accompany, support and provide advice in the dialogue process among Venezuelans.
During the day, the foreign ministers attended meetings in Antonio José de Sucre Yellow House (seat of Venezuelan diplomacy), the Presidential Palace and Hotel Meliá. The first meeting was held with Foreign Minister Elías Jaua, which was followed by a meeting with President Nicolás Maduro.
In the evening, the ministers met with the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) and the group of governors led by the opposition leader Henrique Capriles.
By the end of the day, Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz made a positive assessment of the meetings. “It has been greatly welcomed by the government, indeed, but also by the opposition, which made a statement to thank the presence of the Unasur ministers. In addition, at the meeting we had with them, they once again reiterated their appreciation for our presence in Venezuela and our efforts to help this country to resume a path towards political dialogue, peace and peaceful coexistence, which is what Latin American countries wish for Venezuela, particularly Chile,” he said.
