The Government of Chile condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack perpetrated yesterday by an armed group against defenseless civilians, occurred at a mall in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, which has until now left sixty people dead and over a hundred and sixty injured, while an unknown number of people are still being held hostage by this group of terrorists.
The Government of Chile calls on the international community to express a universal condemnation of this and all acts of terrorism, as well as to demand the immediate release of the hostages.
The Government of Chile expresses its deepest sympathy to the Government and people of Kenya for this irretrievable loss of human lives and expresses its solidarity with the families of victims killed and injured. We extend these condolences to other countries whose citizens have also been victims of this senseless and impermissible attack.
