María Teresa Infante to be next Ambassador of Chile to The Netherlands

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, informed that the President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, has appointed María Teresa Infante Caffi as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Chile to the Netherlands, a country which has already given its agreement.

Ambassador Infante is a lawyer from the University of Chile and has a Doctor's degree from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.

The future representative of Chile to The Netherlands is a Chair Professor at the University of Chile, has taught at the Diplomatic Academy and has been guest professor at academic institutions of various countries. Additionally, she was Director of the Institute for International Studies of the University of Chile and has been a member of different International Law Institutions.

Ambassador Infante was co-agent of our country to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to The Hague in the Peru-Chile case.

At present, María Teresa Infante serves as National Director of Frontiers and Borders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is part of the group of 35 experts that advises Chile in the Bolivian claim to the ICJ.
