Government of Chile condemns massacre of civilians in Syria
Comparte :

The Government of Chile strongly condemns the attacks occurred this Wednesday against the civil population in the outskirts of Damascus, capital of the Arab Republic of Syria , which have left hundreds of casualties, many of them children, women and elderly people.

Since the beginning of the long conflict in the Arab Republic of Syria, Chile has repeatedly expressed its total opposition to the use of violence, regardless of its origin. It has also insisted in the urgent need for an inclusive political dialogue as the only way to solve this armed conflagration, which has left a catastrophic toll of death and displacement.

Given the denunciations over the possible use of chemical weapons in these attacks, the Government of Chile urges the Government of Syria to provide the most ample and free access to the attacked area to the UN Committee of Experts, which is currently in that country, so that the Committee can examine the bodies of victims, determine their cause of death and perform all procedures and investigations leading to clarify this massacre.
