Concern over events in Egypt
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile expresses its deep concern over the recent political events that have shaken the Arab Republic of Egypt and which have resulted in the suspension of its Constitution and the removal of the legitimately elected President.
Since the beginning of the process of changes that have taken place in Egypt due to the so-called "Arab Spring," Chile has expressed its interest and support for the democratization processes and the political transition in a climate of peace and tolerance.
In view of the events of July 3 of the current year, the Government of Chile expresses its wish for a consensual and peaceful solution that leads to, as soon as possible, the institutional and political normality in the country.
