Chilean Government condemns coup in the Kingdom of Thailand
The Chilean Government condemns and deeply regrets the coup occurred a few hours ago in the Kingdom of Thailand, which has broken the democratic institutional framework of that country.
Chile hopes that the political crisis affecting that partner and friendly country and its people can be resolved promptly and peacefully, by means of tools, formulas and mechanisms that permit to restore democratic coexistence. Likewise, Chile urges to exclude any form of violence or repression and full respect for human rights and civil liberties.
The Chilean Government, along with reaffirming its appreciation for the rule of law as a peaceful way to overcome political crises, prays for a prompt return of Thailand to the democratic path
