Chilean Government condemns attack in Beirut
The Chilean Government, along with endorsing the statement issued today by the United Nations Security Council, condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place on Thursday, January 2, 2014, which caused deaths and injuries.
The Chilean Government extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and reiterates its support to the people and Government of Lebanon in its efforts to maintain stability, security and an atmosphere of unity.
In addition, the Chilean Government reiterates the need to enhance international cooperation in the fight against terrorism, in order to bring those responsible to justice in accordance with international law and full respect for human rights.
