The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, met with the Director General for Antartic Affairs of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Fausto López, who is participating in the fifth meeting of the Chile-Argentina Ad Hoc Committee on Antarctic affairs, whose creation was made known through a Joint Presidential Statement, dated 16 March 2012.
This committee has provided a space for permanent dialogue between the two countries on Antarctic issues. In addition, it has allowed us to agree on common positions at various international meetings of the Antarctic Treaty System and coordinate bilateral activities between the two countries on the White Continent. The aforementioned meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee was held on 7 April 2014 in Santiago, Chile.
