Acting Foreign Minister Alfonso Silva officially received the fourth bell of the former Compañía de Jesús church, destroyed by fire in 1863 which also claimed over two thousand lives.

The piece was installed during a ceremony held at the 14th Fire Brigade, located in the Providencia district , and was attended by the British Ambassador to Chile, Jon Benjamin and Mayor Josefa Errázuriz.

After the fire, which led to the founding of Santiago's First Fire Brigade, three of the four bells were sent to Swansea, Wales, where they remained for nearly 150 years until the efforts made by the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British government returned them to Chile in 2010.

This fourth piece, found in Saint Thomas's Parish in south Wales, was received by H.R.H. Prince Edward accompanied by the Chilean Ambassador to the UK, Tomás Müller, on 24 September 2012 to be delivered to Chile in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the disastrous blaze.
