Statement of the Group of Friends of Haiti on the killing of a Chilean Peacekeeper in Haiti
The Group of Friends of Haiti condemns the killing of a Chilean peacekeeper, Second Sergeant Rodrigo Andrés Sanhueza Soto, of the United Nations Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (MINUSTAH), whose vehicle was attacked on 13 April 2015.
The Group of Friends looks forward to the results of the investigations by MINUSTAH and the Haitian authorities and highlights the important of brining those responsible for this crime to justice.
The Group of Friends of Haiti expresses its condolences to the family of the peacekeeper, to the Government and people of Chile and to MINUSTAH.
