The Chilean Government strongly condemns the violation of the humanitarian ceasefire that had been agreed upon between the parties in conflict in Gaza.
According to available reports, this violation of the ceasefire would allegedly be the responsibility of Hamas, casting doubts about the assurances that such group had given to the United Nations.
Reportedly, two Israeli soldiers were allegedly killed while a third one was kidnapped after the entry into force of the humanitarian ceasefire, in gross violation of the agreed commitment.
The Chilean Government also expresses its concern for the renewed attacks by Israeli soldiers on the Gaza Strip, which allegedly took the life of more than 70 Palestine citizens.
Violation of this ceasefire, agreed upon thanks to the mediation of the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon and the Secretary of State, John Kerry, prevents access with humanitarian aid to the civil population affected by the bloody violence.
Violation of this ceasefire also has grave political consequences because it endangers the peace talks which are expected to take place in Cairo, Egypt.
