This morning, the new Senate President, Patricio Walker, received the International Committee "We are all Chile" (Chile Somos Todos) at the headquarters of the former National Congress in Santiago.
The meeting was chaired by the Director General of Consular Affairs and Immigration, Ambassador Alejandro Marisio, who explained the process of drafting the Constitutional Act to regulate the Chilean vote abroad.
On the occasion, Ambassador Marisio also detailed the efforts being made by the Foreign Ministry so that Chileans abroad can vote, deepening democracy in our country.
Also present were Director of the Directorate for the Chilean Community Abroad (Dicoex), Juan Pino; Assistant Director, Antonio Kaiser; and the leadership of the Chile Somos Todos Committee, composed of fellow resident in Austria, Aida Mena; former parliamentarian in Canada, Osvaldo Nunez; and Nancy Díaz, Omar Iturrieta, Nelson Hernández and Simón Ortega.
They explained the objectives of this organization to the new President of the Senate, talking about its history and previous work to defend political and civil rights.
