Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, accompanied the President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, on an official visit to the Republic of Guatemala.
They first went to the National Palace of Culture, where they were received by President Otto Pérez, Vice-President Roxana Baldetti, and Foreign Minister Carlos Morales.
After the Welcoming Ceremony and White Rose of Peace Ceremony, Foreign Minister Muñoz participated in the bilateral meeting of the two presidents, after which a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation was signed.
In the afternoon, the delegation went to the Museum of the University of San Carlos, where President Bachelet spoke at the conference on the subject of "Education Reform, Gender Equality, Interculturalism and Regional Integration: Key Instruments for Development."
Subsequently, Minister Muñoz accompanied the president for the closing of the Chile-Guatemala business meeting: "Opportunities, Challenges and an Exchange of Experiences."
At the end of the day, Minister Muñoz and President Bachelet attended the dinner, "Flavors of Chile," with key authorities, businesspersons, academics and representatives of culture of Guatemala and Chile.
