At a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Fundación Imagen de Chile held this afternoon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs took the chair of the Board, as prescribed by the bylaws of the public-law private institution. At the occasion, the Foreign Minister introduced the new executive director of the Foundation, Myriam Gómez, whose appointment was confirmed by the Board.

At the end of the Board meeting, a meeting was held with state and private strategic partners working on positioning of Chile in the world. The attendees included the Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams and the Minister of Transport, Andrés Gómez Lobo. Also present were Under-Secretaries of Government, Rodolfo Baier; Tourism, Javiera Montes; Energy, Jimena Jara; and Transportation, Cristián Bowen, in addition to the Executive Vice President of the Investment Committee, Jorge Pizarro.

On the occasion, the Minister referred to the hallmark the administration of President Michelle Bachelet seeks to imprint to foreign policy, with strong roots in our region. "We are talking to the world from our identity. We are a supportive, solidary, cooperative Latin American country that has much to share," he said. "But our condition is not exhausted in Latin America. We also look to the Asia Pacific and cultivate a close relationship with our traditional partners in Europe and the U.S.," he added.

At the meeting, the attendees were shown the results of the development of the brand "Chile", which seeks to expand the emotional territory of the brand in our country, highlighting four pillars that make Chile a memorable and lovable country, beyond its economic and institutional advantages. Thus we speak of a "land of extremes", with a "modern-traditional" seal, which has a progress vocation, where "reliable links" are established.
