In Arica, DICORE develops Training School for Regional Unit Heads on International Affairs of the Central-North areas of the country

On September 9 and 10, the second 2014 Training School on International Affairs was performed by the Regional Coordination Directorate (DICORE) as part of the International Integration Program of Regions developed by this Directorate. The activity was attended by Heads and representatives of International Affairs Regional Units (URAI) of Valparaiso, Metropolitan Region, Coquimbo, Atacama, Antofagasta and Arica & Parinacota.

The School was opened by the Director of DICORE, Ambassador Francisco Gormaz and by the Provincial Governor of Arica, Andrea Murillo, who welcomed the participants at the activity on behalf of the Regional Intendent. It is worth noting that just like is other opportunities, and especially invited by DICORE, The School counted oin the important participation of regional councilors from various regions of the North Central Zones.

The Program included lectures by the Director of Strategic Planning, Ambassador María del Carmen Domínguez and the Director of Multilateral Policy, Ambassador Verónica Chahin; The Head of the North-Center Regional Development Department of ProChile, Gabriel San Martín; The Communications Director of Fundación Imagen de Chile, Patricia Provoste; the representative of the Cultural Affairs Division, Constanza Rojas; the Advisor of the Directorate for International Economic Relations, Enrique Soler; the Head of the Treaty and Legislative Affairs Department of DIJUR, Pedro Ortuzar, the Head of the International Migration Planning of DIGECONSU, Pedro Hernández; the representative of the National Directorate for State Borders and Frontiers, Juan Pablo Berasaluce; the representatives of the International Cooperation Agency and of the Directorate of Energy, Science and Technology & Innovation, Patricia González and Juan Carlos Aguirre, respectively.

On the day of Wednesday 10, URAI heads, regional councilors and Foreign Ministry delegation participated in a round table, instance that made it possible to learn in detail the state of the international management of each region, and the prospects of work that are planned to be developed from the respective Regional Governments.

They also agreed on the need to strengthen the institutional framework of the URAIs and keep the necessary coordinations with the Foreign Ministry to ensure the success of the regional commitments relating to the international integration, the Integration Committees and international meetings in which Regional Governments of the country participate.
