The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, will head the Chilean delegation traveling on October 27 and 28 to Bogota for an official visit. In the framework of the political consultations, Secretary of State Muñoz will meet with the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos.

During the visit, the Foreign Minister will be accompanied by representatives of the "Group of Friends for Peace in Colombia," including Angela Jeria; Senator Andrés Allamand; Ambassador Gabriel Gaspar; lawyer Carmen Hertz; and Juan Andrés Lagos.

Minister Muñoz explained that the main goal of the trip is to support the peace process of a friend country and strategic partner. "What we want for Colombia is a peace agreement to end decades of conflict. Chile, as a companion country, will do everything possible to support this ongoing process and the agreements that have been adopted by the Government and FARC."

The Secretary of State highlighted the good level of bilateral relations and the willingness and commitment of our country to Colombia. "We support what has been agreed. Our country is, and will always be, available as we have been until now. In the future, that is, post-conflict, there will be tasks of great importance and Chile is available to transfer its experience and good practices."
