This morning, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, announced that Agents Felipe Bulnes and Claudio Grossman, who represent our country in the claim filed by Bolivia to the International Court of Justice of The Hague, accompanied by Ambassador María Teresa Infante, submitted the document requesting the Court to declare itself incompetent to continue hearing this case.

"The President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, has directed the submission of this remedy, known as preliminary exception, after an exhaustive consultation process with the legal teams and seeking advice from the most representative sectors of our society", the Minister said.

The Secretary of State also announced that the Court has determined that Bolivia has November 14 as the deadline to reply in writing to the Chilean submission. He further announced that the President has designated lawyer María Teresa Infante, Ambassador of Chile to the Kingdom of the Netherlands as its co-Agent.
