The Under-Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, participated in the inauguration of a seminar entitled "Global and National Experiences in Sustainability Reporting: Progress and Challenges" held this morning in the Auditorium of the Society for Industrial Development (SOFOFA).
Joining Under-Secretary Riveros at the inauguration were: Under-Secretary of the Economy and Small-sized Companies, Katia Trusich; Secretary General of the SOFOFA, Jorge Ortuzar; Director of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy of France, Robin Edme; and Ambassador of the European Union in Chile, Rafael Dochao.
In his speech, Under-Secretary Riveros said that he is "convinced that in a world like the one we live in today, where citizens and consumers are more demanding, companies are required to adapt and to be attentive to what the public demands." He also highlighted the development of the National Action Plan on Human Rights and Business, an instrument coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This meeting on global and national experience in Corporate Social Responsibility is part of the international commitments assumed by the public and private sector of Chile.
