Just hours before the start of the second round of the arguments of Chile at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), a group of Chileans living in Norway and Sweden went to The Hague to express their support for the national delegation.
"President, we are with you in The Hague. Chileans abroad," was the message on the sign displayed outside the hotel where the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, as well as parliamentarians and the Chilean legal team were staying.
The Foreign Minister confessed that he was deeply moved by the action and thanked all of those present who have come "such a long way to The Hague to express their support for the national position and the defense of our national interests."
The Secretary of State added that "this is a gesture of solidarity and national unity that expresses the State policy that has long been expressed in the defense of our interests." He added that "this adds to the gestures that we have had from communities in Italy, France, right here in the Netherlands and from other countries."
