The Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, had a series of meetings in the context of his participation in the VIII Chancellors Meeting of the East Asia-Latin American Cooperation (FEALAC) Forum, which is taking place in the south Korean city of Busan.

The first encounter of the national authority was a meeting with the Korean Chancellor, Kang Kyun-wha, where the Vice-Ministers of Colombia, Salvador, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, also took part.

During the appointment, they dealt with different issues of regional interest and they also had time to discuss the bilateral agenda, highlighting the Free Trade Agreement between Chile and Korea. It is worth mentioning, that at the APEC Leaders' Summit of 2016, both countries issued a declaration expressing their desire to formally initiate the negotiations in this respect.

Subsequently, Under Secretary Riveros met with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Ha Kim Ngoc, with whom they discussed the upcoming visit of President Michelle Bachelet to Vietnam, in the context of the upcoming APEC Summit, that will take place on November in Da Nang. Also, they talked about different measures to increase bilateral cooperation.
