The Chargé d'Affaires of the new Chilean mission in Ghana, Ricardo Allen, presented his Cabinet Letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of that country, Hanna Tetteh.

During the meeting the Chargé d'Affaires of our country welcomed "to be representing Chile in the first Chilean diplomatic mission in Ghana," he said.

Similarly, Minister Tetteh expressed on behalf of the Government of Ghana her enthusiasm for the opening of the first Chilean Embassy in her country and explained that this is a great step that could generate a significant qualitative change in the future links between the two countries. To this end, the new mission will have the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the African country.

This new Chilean diplomatic representation is part the Africa Plan, a program of the Foreign Ministry aimed at bringing closer the Chilean society to that continent through various cultural, commercial and political activities.

The Chargé d'Affaires ad hoc, Ricardo Allen, will lead the first Embassy shared between Chile and Colombia as part of the issues agreed within the framework of the Pacific Alliance.

In this regard, the Chief of Mission said that Chile is looking at Ghana not only in terms of the bilateral relationship but also as a member country of the Pacific Alliance, a novel situation that enhances the presence of its members in the African country.
