The Foreign Minister (S) Edgardo Riveros hosted the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, H. E. Li Baorong, who concluded his mission in Chile after three years of administration.
The Chancellor (s) highlighted the intense activity of Ambassador Li in strengthening the relationship between Chile and China, which has reached an optimum level. He added that this was reflected, among others, in the important exchange of visits of high authorities from both countries, such as Prime Minister Li Keqiang and President Xi Jinping to Chile in 2015 and 2016, respectively, as well as those of President Michelle Bachelet to China in 2014 and 2017.
In addition to this, there is a trade exchange that places China as Chile's main trading partner worldwide and an active and innovative bilateral cooperation agenda. The authority made special mention of Ambassador Li's support in the three versions of "Chile week" in China, allowing new spaces of mutual knowledge to be created, and the permanent solidarity expressed by China in the face of natural disasters in Chile. He also wished the diplomatic representative every success in the new functions assigned to him by his Government.
For his part, Ambassador Li expressed his gratitude for the collaboration of the Foreign Ministry authorities in the exercise of his mission, as well as for the fruitful joint work carried out, both in Santiago and in the regions, and for having been able to contribute, together with his Embassy team, to the strengthening of friendship between the two countries.
