International Court of Justice sets date to render its judgment in maritime boundary dispute (Chile v. Peru)

The Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to announce that the International Court of Justice has informed the parties that it will deliver its judgment in the case "Maritime Dispute (Peru v. Chile)," filed by Peru in 2008, in open court on Monday, 27 January 2014, at the Peace Palace, The Hague, commencing at 3.00 pm local time.

The Chilean Government is calmly waiting for the ruling that the International Court of Justice will deliver in accordance with its long-standing tradition of respect for international law. The Government reaffirms the State policy that Chile has invariably followed on this issue and will continue to maintain coordination with public authorities, as well as with relevant national and regional sectors.
