Foreign Minister Muñoz takes part in the XVIII Pacific Alliance’s Council of Ministers

Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz, alongside with his peers from Colombia, María Angela Holguin; Mexico, Luis Videgaray; and Perú, Ricardo Luna, attended the XVIII Pacific Alliance's Council of Ministers, which took place in Cali, Colombia.
At first time in the morning, the delegations gathered at Valle del Pacifico Convention Centre and reviewed Cali's Declaration which will be implemented during the Presidential Encounter, set to take place on June 30th. On this date, Chile will hand over to Colombia de Presidency Pro Tempore (PPT) of the mechanism of regional integration, alongside with the Referential Terms for Negotiations with future Pacific Alliance Associated States.
"Chile is very pleased with the accomplishments achieved, in particular, the qualitative leap that the creation of the category of Associated State signifies." mentioned the Secretary of State during the opening ceremony. He also added that "the Pacific Alliance will transform into a new platform to share with future Associated States of the Pacific Alliance."
Later, the Council of Ministers gathered with the observer States in an encounter composed of three panels. Foreign Minister Muñoz served as moderator of one of said panels: "Observer States Perception and Vision regarding the Pacific Alliance". Within this context, the Secretary of State highlighted the fact there are already 52 observer States in the Pacific Alliance and the creation of the Associated State figure, which proves "the maturity we have reached in this inclusion device".
Within the context of this meeting, Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz held an audience with Australia's Trade and Inversion Minister, Steve Clobo, alongside with New Zealand's Foreign Minister, Gerry Brownlee, and Trade Minister, Todd Mclay.
