Foreign Minister Muñoz accompanied President Bachelet in meeting with Angela Davis

This afternoon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, joined President Michelle Bachelet in meeting with African-American social justice activist and scholar Angela Davis, an icon of the 60s and 70s known worldwide for her fight for gender and racial justice.

Imagen foto_00000008After the meeting, Minister Muñoz took the Women, Race, and Class author to visit La Moneda Palace's White Hall, a replica of Salvador Allende´s office located where the Presidental Hall used to be and where the former president died 43 years ago.

Davis came to Chile to participate in the 10th bi-annual conference of the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics entitled "eX-céntrico, dissidence, sovereignties, performance," organized by the University of Chile, the Hemispheric Institute of the New York University and other collaborative institutions. In-between these activities, she also participated in a cultural activity in the Recoleta settlement that was named after her.
